Georgian Alliance on Agriculture and Rural Development Plenary Meeting

The coordinated and secretariat process of the Georgian Alliance on Agriculture and Rural Development (GAARD) is driven by BRIDGE – innovation and development. The event was organized in partnership with People in Need with the support of EU within the project promoting „Regional Civil Society Organizations as Vectors of Rural Economic Development “.

The coordinated and secretariat process of the Georgian Alliance on Agriculture and Rural Development (GAARD) is driven by BRIDGE – Innovation and Development. The event was organized in partnership with People in Need with the support of EU within the project promoting „Regional Civil Society Organizations as Vectors of Rural Economic Development “.

Representatives of PMCG presented a policy brief about “Vocational Education in the Context of DCFTA”. The goal of the Policy brief was to investigate the challenges existed in vocational education which create barriers  to small and medium enterprises to increase their competitiveness.

Participants reviewed the recommendations and discussed to whom and in what way it should be advocated.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of new organizations who expressed their interest for becoming the member of the alliance and discussed the ways of cooperation with the alliance and made brief presentations about their work. (These are following organizations: “Media Center Kakheti- Founder of association of Agro Journalists”, Kvemo Kartli Women Organization “Ertoba”, Marneuli Democrat Women Society”, Tkibuli Municipality Development Fund and Agro Service Consalting )

At the end of the event the participants agreed that alliance will start active advocacy of the recommendations given in the policy brief with relevant governmental institutions.
