Disaster Risk Reduction International Day
On October 13, Bridge – Innovation and Development together with National Crisis Management center of the State Security and Crisis Management Council of Georgia and other NGOs working on Disaster Risk Reduction celebrated International DRR Day.
Event was held in Underwheel Event Hall (Mtatsminda Park). It was participated by Government institutions, international and local NGOs. Bridge – Innovation and Development presented various publications, video and photo materials, infographics produced in the framework of the DiPECHO program.
Currently, the fifth phase of DiPECHO funded project is being implemented, which aims at building capacities of communities and local authorities/institutions in disaster preparedness and response. The overall goal of partners’ joint efforts is strengthening partnership and coordination among stakeholders and sharing experience in disaster risk reduction and climate change. The program is being implemented in close cooperation with the Government of Georgia, regional and local governments to ensure and support disaster risk reduction policy, law-making and sustainability of related projects/programs.
