3rd Resilience Forum  in Batumi

On May 30th, 2017  in Batumi  Bridge Innovation and Development (BRIDGE) and Black Sea Eco- Academy (BSEA) together with Oxfam hosted the 3rd Resilience Forum. The forum was organized within the framework of DG European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations Funded
“Supporting Community Resilience in the South Caucasus” program with a support from the Visegrad Fund and the Slovak Aid.

The forum brought policy makers, civil society organisations and key stakeholders to discuss the key areas related to the resilience: disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, agriculture and livelihoods. It also explored the possible networks and collaboration between the organizations and governments from Adjara with the national level partners. Thanks to the support from the Visegrad Fund the Forum hosted experts from Hungary, Slovakia, Czechia and Poland who shared their knowledge and expertise and discussed a potential of collaboration and replication to Adjara.

The series of events aims to facilitate a regional multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder dialogue on challenges and best practices in policy and practice work to support rural and urban resilience in Adjara. The initiative aims at contributing towards intensifying the know-how transfer and communication on the key country and regional about strategies and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 and other frameworks and plans at all governance levels related to climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, livelihoods, environmental protection and synergies among them.
