The competition was based on the findings of National Nutrition Research in Georgia, which was recently finalized by Oxfam representation in the country. At the Award Ceremony Oxfam has presented the main findings of the Research aiming to study the current nutritional state of Georgian population and analyse the population`s accessibility on the diversified food and consumption patterns as well as to increase the awareness on the healthy nutrition.

The results of the research prove that the problems with the usage of balanced (diversified) nutrition are in correlation with various factors, among them material, seasonal and geographic ones; the deficiency is revealed in the winter and early months of the spring and it is bigger in mountainous regions rather than in big cities. At the same time, one of the factors of unbalanced nutrition is the lack of awareness on the issue of the population, which is revealed in existing of wrong patterns of food distribution among family members, usage of unhealthy food, water consumption patterns and nutrition regimen disorders.

In the framework of the event full report of the National Nutrition Research was presented, the results of which is based on 1000 interviews throughout Georgia.
